Filipina tennis star Alex Eala is set to return to the Asian Games, giving Team Philippines another major medal contender as she prepares to compete in the 2026 edition in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The Philippine Tennis Association confirmed Eala’s participation, putting one of the country’s fastest-rising athletes back on the Asian Games stage.
Eala already has an Asian Games medal to her name after winning bronze in the women’s singles event in 2022. Her return comes after a series of breakthroughs that have elevated her profile on the international tennis circuit.
Now armed with greater experience and confidence, Eala is expected to enter the competition with higher ambitions as she takes on some of Asia’s best players.
Beyond her individual campaign, Eala’s participation also strengthens the Philippine tennis team, which continues to develop its presence in major international competitions.
At just 21, Eala has already carried the Philippine flag on some of the sport’s biggest stages. Her Asian Games return offers another opportunity to turn that growing experience into a bigger achievement.
From a bronze medalist to one of the Philippines’ biggest hopes, Eala returns to the Asian Games with one target in sight: going higher than before.
