Venezuela earthquake death toll climbs to 3,342

VENEZUELA – Venezuela faces a deepening humanitarian crisis following twin earthquakes, with the death toll climbing to 3,342.

Official figures now report over 16,400 injuries and nearly 17,350 people left homeless.

Amidst growing public frustration, Interim President Delcy Rodriguez addressed the nation during the country’s 215th independence day.

She defended the administration’s efforts, stating that security forces were deployed immediately. To better handle future disasters, Rodriguez also announced the formation of a specialized military unit dedicated to emergency response.
