President Ferdinand Marcos and Senator Imee Marcos relationship is reportedly nonexistent

PHILIPPINES – After Senator Imee Marcos’ comment stating that her relationship with her brother, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr, was, quote on quote, “nonexistent,” a question was raised during the President Communications Office Press Briefing with ARTA on May 5, 2026.

Claire Castro relayed that the President said that this was correct. Senator Marcos has reportedly not spoken to him in three years and has stopped attending family gatherings and events. When asked further about the cause of the supposed rift between the siblings, Castro said to ask the Senator about that instead as the President apparently had no bad feelings.

According to the Presidential Undersecretary, the President’s body language seemed disappointed by the words spoken by his sister.
