MANILA, Philippines — Fisherfolk from Manila Bay and Laguna de Bay forfeited their fishing activities on Friday, March 27, to join in the nationwide transport strike to protest their discontent over the government’s “inadequate actions” in handling the country’s crisis.

PAMALAKAYA group said the Marcos government’s ineptitude in responding to the oil crisis with a state of national energy emergency is nothing short of irrelevant to the ordinary Filipinos.

He also argued that President Bongbong Marcos’ actions are deliberate, claiming that the administration sidelined suggestions from various sectors to alleviate the impact of the crisis.
