OTTAWA, Ontario — Global Affairs Canada strongly urges Canadians in the Middle East to leave while commercial options remain available, citing that the Canadian government’s ability to assist may soon be limited should the conflict further escalate.
The foreign affairs agency has also discouraged Canadians from taking, sharing, or possessing visual or audiovisual content of military activities or the damage in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
It warned that doing so could lead to fines, imprisonment, or deportation, following reports from local authorities.
