Canada expresses solidarity with Filipinos on EDSA 40

MANILA, Philippines — The Canadian Embassy in the Philippines expressed its solidarity with the peace-loving Filipino people on the 40th anniversary of the 1986 People Power Revolution.

“Canada recognizes the significance of this historic commemoration, and we honour the spirit of democratic participation it represents,” the embassy said.“As partners and friends, Canada and the Philippines continue to work together in advancing democratic values, human rights, and public accountability,” it added.

In the same post, the embassy warned Filipino netizens to exercise sensibility in commenting, as it does not condone any forms of malicious comments.

“This is to remind everyone that while we respect differences in views and opinions, we will not allow red-tagging and libelous statements to be published on our page,” it underscored.
