MTRCB rates over 100K films, TV contents in H1 2025

MANILA – The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) rated and classified a total of 103,652 materials from January to June 2025, reflecting the agency’s intensified efforts to ensure age-appropriate content across platforms.

In a press release on Saturday, MTRCB Chairperson and chief executive officer Lala Sotto-Antonio emphasized the agency’s commitment to protecting viewers, particularly minors, by promoting informed and responsible viewing.

The agency reviewed 65,769 television programs; 36,263 TV plugs; 834 publicity materials; 490 movie trailers; and 287 local and foreign films. An additional nine publicity materials were also rated.

“We remain fully committed to our mission of protecting viewers by using age-appropriate rating and classification,” Antonio said. “Through this, we can help parents and supervising adults in making informed viewing choices, especially for children.”

She also lauded the dedication and hard work of the board members and staff who continue to perform their duties with integrity.
