The phenomenal hit “Hello, Love, Again” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards has earned eight nominations at the 8th Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards (The Eddys), including the coveted Best Picture award.

The highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, with a P1.6 billion worldwide gross, was nominated for Best Director for Cathy Garcia-Sampana, Best Actor for Alden Richards, Best Supporting Actor for Joross Gamboa, Best Screenplay, Best Editing, and Best Production Design.

ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema and GMA Pictures’ historic film collaboration also earned a nod in the Best Musical Score category alongside other nominees, including “And the Breadwinner Is…” and “Un/Happy for You.”

Apart from the nominations, The Eddys is honoring Kathryn and Alden as Box Office Heroes for ruling the big screen for “Hello, Love, Again.”

Joining the Box Office Heroes’ honorees this year is Vice Ganda for the success of “And the Breadwinner Is…,” which earned about P460 million in worldwide gross. Vice Ganda is also among the Best Actor nominees.

Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto are likewise part of the Box Office Heroes roster for “Un/Happy For You,” which recorded P450 million in box office sales.

The Eddys’ awards ceremony is happening on July 20 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City. It will have a delayed telecast on Kapamilya Channel and Jeepney TV, while iWant will stream the program for international viewers starting July 27.

The Eddys is organized annually by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd).  For more information, follow The Eddys on Facebook at The Eddys (The Entertainment Editors’ Choice).
