Quebec City, June 30, 2025 – The City of Quebec announces the awarding of a grant totaling $216,395 to three community organizations. This support is part of the call for projects launched last April, aimed at improving access to basic services for people experiencing homelessness or residential instability.
This approach is in line with the consultations carried out for the development of the Homelessness Vision and its Action Plan, which highlighted the significant challenges related to access to essential facilities, such as showers and laundry services.
With this call for projects, the City wanted to support initiatives promoting the accessibility and availability of these services, in line with the objectives of the City’s homelessness action plan: offering local services, promoting social integration and creating inclusive and safe public facilities.
“Whether it’s taking a shower or washing clothes, accessing certain facilities can be complex for people experiencing homelessness or residential instability,” said Marie-Pierre Boucher, the executive committee’s homelessness officer. “Yet these are essential basic services that can not only improve health and well-being, but also self-esteem and social integration.
The City supports these new initiatives, which will help facilitate the steps aimed at achieving stability for people.”

The projects were analyzed according to several criteria, including:
• The relevance of the project with regard to the objectives of the call;
