Residential and non-residential property owners are reminded that 2025 property tax payments are due by Thursday, July 3.

Ways to pay

  • Online: Pay online through your financial institution – it’s the quickest way to pay.
  • In person: Pay in-person at your bank or ATM, or visit the Revenue Services counter at 515 West 10th Ave. (Development and Building Services Centre), Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm.
  • Drop off a cheque: Use the secure 24/7 mail slot at City Hall’s south doors (off West 12th Ave.) before 11:59 pm on July 3.

Property tax payments must be received by July 3 to avoid the 5% penalty.

Property tax reminders

  • Homeowner grants: To apply for a homeowner grant, submit your application directly to the province by July 3. Please note, after you receive confirmation of a successful grant submission, it may take 3 to 4 days to update your property tax account. To avoid a late penalty, pay the balance (minus your eligible grant amount) before the property tax due date. For questions, contact the province at 1-888-355-2700.
  • Property tax deferment: The Province’s Property Tax Deferment program is a low-interest provincial loan program designed to help qualified B.C. homeowners pay annual property taxes. To avoid a penalty from the City, deferments for 2025 taxes should be completed by July 3. Review eligibility and details on how to defer.
  • Empty Homes Tax declarations for 2023: July 3 is the last chance for property owners to submit a late empty homes tax declaration for the 2023 tax year. A $250 fine applies to late declarations, as per the Vacancy Tax By-law.

Property tax notices during Canada Post service disruptions

During Canada Post service disruptions, delivery of property tax notices or utility bills may be late, but payments must still be received by July 3, 2025.
