MANILA – Senate President Francis Escudero announced Monday that the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, including its annexes, was already uploaded to the Senate website for public access.

This was after the offices of all 23 senators had already received a copy of the complaint.

“Nabigyan na nung nagdaang linggo ng kopya ng impeachment complaint ang mga miyembro ng Senado. Uploaded na rin sa website ng Senado yung aktwal na impeachment complaint, kabilang yung mga annex nito (Members of the Senate were given copies of the impeachment complaint last week. The actual document, along with its annexes, is now available on the Senate website),” Escudero said in a press briefing.

Escudero emphasized that the complaint is a public document and should be accessible to the public.

He said senators have ample time to study the complaint and prepare for the proceedings.

“They will be given time to read and review it. We will also send them a draft of the proposed rules for their review too, para pagdating ng June 2, wala nang ‘hindi ko pa nababasa. I need more time to read’ (They will be given time to read and review it. We will also send them a draft of the proposed rules for their review too, so that by June 2, there will be no excuses like ‘I haven’t read it yet’ or ‘I need more time to study it’) ,” he said.

Escudero added that within two weeks, all senators are also expected to receive a draft of the proposed impeachment rules, for their review.
