AUCKLAND, NZ July 31, 2024
 – ABS-CBN Global is going truly worldwide with its year-long celebration of the 30th anniversary of its flagship multimedia brand, TFC, by helping create happy places for Filipinos wherever they may be.

ABS-CBN Global has been designated as Major Sponsor and TFC as the Official Media Partner of Barangay Banyuhay Family Day ’24 on November 23, Saturday, at the Barfoot & Thompson Stadium in Auckland. The event is brought to New Zealand by Banyuhay Aotearoa in partnership with Batang Pinoy NZ. MX3 Natural Supplements is Presenter.  It also has the support of the Ministry of Ethnic Communities of New Zealand.

No less than hot Kapamilya superstar Kim Chiu will grace the TFC Happy Hour for some high energy song and dance numbers.  Kim is an accomplished multi-awarded artist and entertainer having won numerous acting awards in the Philippines and abroad for her roles on TV and films. She is also a box office star with many top grossing films under her belt. A top prize winner of the reality series, Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition, Kim rose to being the Philippines’ “Multimedia Idol” with her versatile and impactful presence on various media platforms including live entertainment onstage as a mainstay of “ASAP Natin ‘To” concerts around the world. Kim has sharpened her singing and dancing skills throughout the years and has impressed even mainstream observers with her performances.

Barangay Banyuhay Family Day is, as the name says, an event for the whole family.  Everyone is welcome and is encouraged to come with family and friends. Doors open at 10am. The main program will kick-off around 11am with an energetic Zumba session with Samu’t Sari’s Trinni Madison. The program is jampacked with musical performances from Harana contestants and other local talents. There will also be parlour games for the kids and adults, and a magic show just for the wee ones.

A Kids’ Corner will be set up and it will be filled with activities to keep the children busy. There will be a bouncy castle, and a reading nook stocked with various Filipino books and board games. There will also be a Filipino Story Time session at the reading nook with a Pinay librarian from Botany Library too!

After the main program has concluded, attendees will have more time to go around the booths and stalls to shop, relish the food, and avail themselves of the services they need.

“The organizers of Barangay Banyuhay Family Day aim to enrich, engage and empower the Filipino migrant community in Aotearoa New Zealand through events and fora about Philippine history, culture and current events. This aligns perfectly with what ABS-CBN Global and TFC have been doing for three decades. This partnership reflects a joint commitment to serve Filipinos, so they remain connected to their heritage while being empowered to thrive in their new home,” said Maribel Hernanez, Asia-Pacific managing director for ABS-CBN Global, Ltd.
