MANILA – TikTokers are encouraged to join a video contest featuring carabao’s milk, in preparation for the World Milk Day celebration on June 1.

The contest highlights the importance of carabao’s milk in providing quality nutrition and its role in sustaining the livelihood of farming families.

The Department of Agriculture – Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) has prepared prizes for video content creators who could best feature the benefits of carabao’s milk, the department said in a statement on Friday.

The contest is open to all except DA-PCC employees. Only one entry per participant is allowed in the competition.

The TikTok video entry must strictly adhere to this year’s theme, “Celebrating the Vital Role Dairy Plays in Delivering Quality Nutrition to Nourish the World.”

Mechanics specify that the video should be in portrait orientation and at least 1920p x 1080p resolution, and must use the DA-PCC’s Wow na Wow theme song, which can be accessed via https://tinyurl.com/DA-PCCWownawow.

The video must not exceed 2 minutes.

By submitting an entry, the participant certifies the originality of his/her video and grants the DA-PCC full permission to use, reproduce, and distribute the videos for promotional purposes.

Entries should be submitted through an email sent to kmd.pcc@gmail.com by 5 p.m. on May 27.

Interested individuals must create their own TikTok account, follow the official TikTok account of the Philippine Carabao Center at @dapcc_official, and create a TikTok video that showcases carabao’s milk in an innovative and engaging way.

Videos can include recipes, health benefits, success stories, or any creative way to showcase carabao’s milk.

Winners will be judged based on the relevance to the theme, which includes visual impact at 35 percent, choreography and execution at 35 percent, and TikTok Reactions at 30 percent.

The grand winner will take home a cash prize of PHP10,000 while the second and third will get PHP7,000 and PHP5,000, respectively.

Winners will be announced on June 1 in celebration of World Milk Day.

World Milk Day has been celebrated across the world since 2001, as established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to help people recognize the importance of milk as a global food.

Carabao’s milk is said to be more nutritious than cow’s milk, having higher calcium and lower cholesterol content.
