Ready, set, game on: “Game On!” podcast airs beginning April 12

Sports enthusiasts are definitely in for a treat as GMA Integrated News, in collaboration with GMA Regional TV and Synergy, launches the Network’s first-ever sports podcast, “Game On!,” this Friday, April 12.

Hosted by GMA Synergy sportscaster and “24 Oras” “Game Changer” segment host Martin Javier, and sports personalities Anton Roxas, andMartin “Coach Hammer” Antonio, the “Game On!” podcast makes sports a lot more interesting and inspiring through stories, interviews, and special features on athletes, coaches, and sports luminaries.

The podcast airs every Friday on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, and other social media platforms.

“We are very much thrilled to be launching the newest player in the podcast community and GMA Network’s first-ever sports podcast, “Game On!” As we keep with the technological trend, we are exploring to present sports in a more exciting and entertaining way,”  says Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy Oliver Victor B. Amoroso. “We invite all sports enthusiasts to join the country’s most trusted sports personalities Martin, Anton, and Hammer in promoting Philippine sports and the Filipino athletes. They will surely make sports a lot more fun and interesting as they discuss the latest sports trends and leagues, and interview athletes, coaches, and more,” he adds.

As an experienced sportscaster, Martin definitely has what it takes to dish out anything sports-related.  He regularly interacts and shares stories with sports personalities and athletes. He also thrusts himself into various physical activities, which are featured in his own segment, “Game Changer,” in “24 Oras.”

“Sports talk like you’ve never had it before. “Game On!” podcast will bring fun and meaty conversations with your favorite personalities in sports,” says Martin.

Meanwhile, after countless years as a sports commentator, Anton is all geared up to discuss the latest trends in sports. The veteran sports anchor has covered various sporting events, including collegiate and professional basketball and volleyball, as well as professional and world title matches in boxing and mixed martial arts.

“With this new platform, we hope to entertain, inform and bring people closer to their favorite sports personalities in a way that’s uniquely ours,” explains Anton.

With his experiences as a former San Beda Red Lion from 2003-2008, Coach Hammer is more than ready to share his sports knowledge and background. A true student of the game, Coach Hammer transitioned to sports broadcasting after his time on the court, now working as an analyst for the NCAA.

“Game On” podcast will be a deeper and more fun discussion of things in and around sports,” shares Coach Hammer.

The “Game On!” podcast is the latest among the podcasts and other news products produced and developed by GMA Integrated News Digital Strategy and Innovation Lab (DigiLab).
