Is there an animal who fills your heart with love? The annual BC SPCA Calendar Contest, presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, is back Jan. 30 and looking for 12 exceptional pets to star in its 2025 calendar. From Jan. 30 through Feb. 17 pet parents are invited to share their furry family member’s photo and compete for a page in the BC SPCA’s 2025 Calendar.

“We have 12 pages to fill with photos of amazing animals,” says Alina Wilson, senior officer, digital giving. “Sharing your beloved pet’s photo and story in our Calendar Contest is the perfect way to celebrate their special place in your life and heart while also raising urgently needed funds for abandoned, abused and injured animals.”

Participants simply upload their pet’s photo and story to the Calendar Contest website and then invite friends and family to donate in support. The 12 animals (six dogs, and six cats/ other amazing pets) with the most votes at 8 p.m. on Feb. 17, 2024 will win the cover or a full page in the 2025 BC SPCA Calendar. The calendar, starring these special pets, will then be made available to purchase online. Your pet just might be brightening the day of tens of thousands of people across the province!

Hill’s Pet Nutrition is back with some special rewards for the caring contest participants. On launch day, Jan. 30, sign up for the contest with a donation of $25 or more to get 25 bonus votes from Hill’s (50 votes total). It’s a one-day only opportunity!

There is also the coveted Hill’s Honourable Mention, awarded by Hill’s to an outstanding pet entry who raises 50 votes or more.

Hill’s generously provides all the food for the cats and dogs in BC SPCA care and is excited to return as the sponsor of the Calendar Contest fundraiser. “There’s no better way to celebrate beloved pets while also giving vulnerable animals a chance to find their own safe, loving home,” says Frances Cheslo, engagement specialist, Hill’s Pet Nutrition Canada. “Every year we’re surprised and delighted by this caring community. We look forward to crowning one lucky pet as the Hill’s Honourable Mention.”

The BC SPCA’s Calendar Contest provides vital funds for animal welfare, including animal protection, sheltering and adoption and a wide range of outreach, advocacy and education services. Last year, the BC SPCA helped more than 135,000 domestic, farm and wild animals in need thanks to caring British Columbians.
