Julie Anne San Jose heats up celebration of Pista ng Bayan 2023 in Vancouver

Global Pinoys in Vancouver sang and danced their hearts out as Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose performed during the opening of Pista ng Bayan 2023 at Robson Square last August 26.

Julie Anne wowed the crowd with her exhilarating performance of “Bang, Bang” and her soulful performance of “Versace on the Floor.

” “The Voice Generation” coach also sang OPM hits “Kailan” and “I’ll Be There” as she bonded and took photos with global Pinoys in Vancouver.

“Sobrang sarap po [sa feeling] at saka nakaka-overwhelm kasi naramdaman talaga namin ‘yung init ng pagtanggap [ng mga tao], yung pagkasabik nila sa Filipino entertainment,” said Julie Anne.

According to Lucily Villanueva from Canada, “at last nakita ko rin siya in person. She’s pretty and good singer, and sweet siya sa mga fans niya.”

Another netizen said, “lahat talaga mai-in love sa kanya. Napaka-talented. Ganda-ganda pa at ang bait.”

GMA Pinoy TV, which is celebrating its 18th anniversary, gave away raffle prizes and official Voltes V: Legacy shirts to lucky attendees of the event.

Pista ng Bayan is a two-day annual festivity for the Filipino-Canadian community, which aims to showcase the Filipino culture and traditions to the mainstream audience through an annual series of events. It is organized by the United Filipino Canadian Associations in British Columbia (UFCABC).

“It is important [to celebrate Pista ng Bayan] because it is our tradition and we would like to carry on with the tradition and the legacy of our forefathers. We were able to showcase to the young ones what it is all about and the richness of our culture,” saidAnnie Miles, UFCABC President.

Before the event, Julie Anne also had a courtesy visit to the office of Philippine Consul General in Vancouver Arlene T.

Magno.

“I am very honored to have met her. She seems like a very sweet and nice person. I was personally told about her advocacies and told her that she will be blessed for it and she should continue doing that as part of giving back to the community,” ConGen Magno said.

“GMA Pinoy TV is a very close partner of the Philippine Consulate.
