NCR positivity rate slightly declines to 4% – OCTA
MANILA – The positivity rate for Covid-19 in the National Capital Region (NCR) has decreased to 4 percent as of July 17.
OCTA Research Group Fellow Dr. Guido David on Monday night said that the NCR’s positivity rate the week prior is 4.2 percent.
“Low positivity rates measured in Bulacan (4.8 percent which is the same as last week), Laguna (3.7 percent from last week’s 5.9 percent), Oriental Mindoro (4.8 percent from last week’s 17.6 percent), Quezon (3 percent from 8.3 percent),” he said over Twitter. “The positivity rates in most Luzon provinces remained almost the same.”
The provinces where the positivity rate declined include Bataan (from 17 percent to 16.2 percent), Batangas (from 5.7 percent to 5.1 percent), Benguet (from 15.5 percent to 11.8 percent), Cagayan (from 12.2 percent to 8.7 percent), Pampanga (14.5 percent to 6.9 percent), Pangasinan (from 15.7 percent to 10.9 percent), from Rizal (8.5 percent to 6.5 percent) and Tarlac (from 11.8 percent to 11.7 percent).
As of July 17, the Department of Health logged 286 new cases which brought the overall tally to 4,170,233 with 5,681 active cases.
About 394 new recoveries were recorded which increased the total number of recovered cases to 4,098,042. No new deaths were reported so the total number Covid-19 deaths stands at 66,510.
