NCR Covid-19 positivity rate may peak to 25% in 1-2 weeks

MANILA – The positivity rate or the number of people testing positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the National Capital Region (NCR) has reached 24.2 percent as of May 9.
OCTA Research Group fellow Guido David tweeted on Wednesday that over 25 percent positivity rate in the NCR “is almost a given at this time”.
“We still expect the peak to happen within one to two weeks,” he said.
The region’s positivity rate was 19.7 percent on May 2.
The nationwide positivity is 22.4 percent as the country logged 1,476 new cases and 1,2706 active cases on May 10.
David said the daily average of new Covid-19 cases is projected to be between 1,900 and 2,100 on May 11.
