Trough of LPA to bring rains across PH
MANILA – The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) will bring rains over most parts of the country Wednesday, the weather bureau said.
In its latest weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecast scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
The same weather condition will prevail over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol region, the Mindoro provinces, Marinduque, and Romblon due to the shear line.
These areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains, PAGASA said.
The LPA, which was last tracked 1,010 km. east of eastern Visayas, is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will cause rains over the Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, and Aurora.
Flash floods or landslides are also possible in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The northeast monsoon will likewise cause isolated light rains over the Ilocos region and the rest of central Luzon.
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over northern Luzon, and the eastern section of central and southern Luzon.
Rough to very rough seas will prevail over the seaboards of northern Luzon, the eastern seaboard of central Luzon, and the eastern seaboard of southern Luzon.
Fishing boats and other small sea vessels are advised not to venture into the sea, while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
