‘Lolong’ introduces more characters as top-rating TV series enters new chapter

Beginning August 15, viewers are in for more revelations and action-packed scenes as the biggest adventure-serye on Philippine primetime, “Lolong,” enters a new chapter and introduces additional characters.
Set to add more color to Ruru Madrid’s character in the series are Vin Abrenica, Thea Tolentino, Alma Concepcion, Rafael Rosell, Lucho Ayala. Expect them to play important roles in Lolong’s life together with the characters played by Shaira Diaz, Arra San Agustin, Christopher de Leon, Jean Garcia, Bembol Roco, Malou de Guzman, Rochelle Pangilinan, and Paul Salas.
Ruru is proud that “Lolong” continues to win the hearts of viewers here and abroad. The Kapuso Action-Drama Prince is excited that they can finally meet the new people in Lolong’s life.
“I’m just grateful kasi alam kong binuhos naming lahat para sa programa. Bukod sa entertainment, nakakapagbigay kami ng aral at inspirasyon. Sobrang sarap sa loob kasi alam namin na lahat ng pinaghirapan namin nagbunga na,” he said. “Hopefully, patuloy n’yo kaming suportahan. Lalaban na po ang mga buwaya. Gaganti na po ang tribong inapi. Simula na po ng bagong digmaan para sa katarungan at para sa kapangyarihan at ito na po ang bagong yugto ng Lolong.”
Sharing Ruru’s excitement are the actors playing new characters in the series.
Vin, who plays Diego, says Lolong is one of a kind. “I’ve never prepared for a show like this. I’m truly happy [to be part of Lolong] kasi nakita ko ‘yung work na binuhos namin nung ginagawa ang Lolong noon, nakikita ko ngayon ‘yung resulta na finally lumalabas na.”
As Diego, Vin also comes from the Atubaw tribe – people who share a long history with crocodiles. Unfortunately, the tribe was massacred years ago. Diego now leads the remaining Atubaws, which include Celia – a pregnant Atubaw set to be portrayed by Thea.
“This is one of the projects I’m really proud that I’m part of. Mahalaga ang bawat karakter, [sa mga susunod na tagpo] mas magiging intense ag labanan,” shares Thea.
Viewers should also look forward to Ines, Lolong’s aunt who is set to be played by Alma. Ines witnessed how her tribe was massacred. Despite her mental health condition, Ines holds a secret that will change everyone’s life.
“There are so many projects that will come and go but only a few are unforgettable. Lolong is one of these projects I’m really proud of,” says Alma.
Earlier seen in the series, Rafel returns as Fr. Reyes. This time, viewers will see more of his character as a priest assigned to Tumahan. Fr. Reyes believes that humans and animals have equal rights and responsibilities.
Rafael is also honored and grateful he gets to be part of Lolong. “The way I was welcomed was very warm. The dynamics, the synergy within the cast and crew, it shines through.”
Also to be introduced in the series is Victor played by Lucho. He is Abet’s (DJ Durano) best friend. But will Victor help Lolong during difficult times?
“To be part of this project, who wouldn’t be happy? Napakaganda ng materyal, napakahusay ng [mga] artista,” says Lucho.
Lolong also stars Marco Alcaraz, Mikoy Morales, and Maui Taylor.

This Drama series is also great, composing of wonderful and full compact of learnings that the kids will also love. I love how the cast turn this as an amazing works, making it international level. I just wish that this will not be in rush because sometimes I see VFX that is not finish nor not edited well.

Mahusay din ang drama series na ito; ito ay binubuo ng magagandang aral na tatangkilikin ng mga kabataan. Gustung-gusto ko kung paano itinataas ito ng cast sa isang hindi kapani-paniwalang piraso ng trabaho sa isang pandaigdigang saklaw. Dahil paminsan-minsan ay nakikita ko na hindi natapos o hindi na-edit ng maayos, sana lang ay hindi minamadali.
