Before the pandemic, the trend of working from home wasn’t that popular, still, a huge number of people had been working from their homes. Thanks to the variety of technologies that we have available, it is no longer a necessity to work from the office and be a productive member of the team. After the pandemic, the trend has grown and most people now prefer to work from their homes, in their comfort zone.
Companies that have work-from-home and remote working policies have more productive employees and lower organizational costs compared to those that don’t have such policies. To be able to work effectively and productively from home, you will need to make sure of certain things that we are going to discuss shortly. Whether it is working for a few days or full time, to be able to work from, you need to have a proper setup. Here are some things that you need to be certain of to work effectively and efficiently from home:
Understand Your Company’s Rules
The first thing that you should do is understand the rules set by your company. Does your company allow you work flexibility or is there a timing set? What tools do you need to be able to communicate with your team members and work from home?
It is important that you should be aware of the ground rules set by your employer and have all the requirements such as a PC or laptop, a fully working internet connection, and all the other things in place.
Set Up A Workspace
To be able to work from home, you will need to set up a workspace for yourself. Obviously, you cannot have a dedicated home office from where you can work since it is difficult for most people to clear up the space for an office but what you can do is set up a functional, private, quiet workspace from where you can work with full focus. If your workspace is separate from your house surroundings then you will be able to work in peace.
Configure Your Internet Connection
To work remotely, you will need to have the right internet connection and the right internet speed. You will need to configure your internet connection through the admin panel via 10.0.0.1 so that your internet connection does not drop. You will also need to make sure that your working setup is close to the wireless router.
Along with other things, you will also have to configure your internet network accordingly to prevent any data loss. Set up 2FA and network firewall via 192.168.254.254 to make sure that your network is protected against cyber threats and cyber-attacks.
Download The Required Apps
You will also need different working apps to work efficiently from home. There are different apps available such as Skype, Microsoft Teams, etc that are built specifically for such purposes. Apart from these team collaborating applications, you will have to download other apps and programs that your company uses to perform its operations. Make sure that you install all of the required programs and applications & get them up and working so that you don’t face any problems later on.
Gather Other Accessories
After you have perfectly set up your workspace and all the other things, you will need some accessories too such as a headset with a microphone, a web camera, and some other things to join meetings remotely.
Minimize Distractions
Last but not least, you will also need to ensure that there are no distractions around you. If there are distractions around you then you won’t be able to work productively and efficiently as your mind will be distracted by those things. Something as small as a barking dog or children in the house will distract you and prevent you from working productively. You can get noise-canceling headphones to help you in this regard or isolate yourself from distractions to be fully focused.
Take Regular Breaks
These are the things that you need to get done to be able to work effectively from home. While working from home remember that don’t confine yourself in solitude. Humans are social animals and we need to interact with each other or go out in order to be mentally healthy.
You will stare at your monitor screen for hours while working from but you should try to make time for yourself and get frequent breaks in order to stay productive. To be able to work effectively and efficiently, your brain also needs to take rest and just like you take breaks at the office, you should do the same while working from home.

I think the number 1 we should do is not to pressure our self so that our work will not only work efficient but also on how we handle it effectively. However as we adapt new environment, we make adjustment especially that pandemic disrupt all the things that are normal before, so as I said we learn everyday and which we configure on how we shall work efficient.
