PBBM now in better condition: Palace
MANILA – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s health condition continues to improve after recovering from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), Malacañang said Friday.
Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, citing the medical findings of Marcos’ attending physician, said the Chief Executive has shown signs of improvement despite contracting the virus.
“Okay na po (He’s OK now),” Cruz-Angeles said, when asked for an update on Marcos’ health.
Marcos’ mandatory seven-day isolation has also ended.
He was declared free from all symptoms on July 13, the fifth day since he tested positive in an antigen Covid-19 test.
Marcos can participate in face-to-face engagements after his isolation, his personal physician, Dr. Samuel Zacate, said Wednesday.
On Thursday, Cruz-Angeles said Marcos is ready to attend face-to-face activities after his seven-day isolation period.
Despite being infected with the coronavirus, Marcos managed to hold several meetings through videoconference.
In a Facebook post, Marcos renewed his call for unity to ensure the country’s progress.
He expressed confidence that the country is on the road to recovery despite the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic.
“Ito ang simula ng unti-unti nating pagbangon, tiwala ako na sa ating pagkakaisa ay sama-sama nating makakamtan ang inaasam nating pagbabago. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas (This is the start of our recovery. I am confident that through unity, we will achieve the change that we desire),” Marcos said.
