Miss International 2022 scheduled to happen in December in Japan
This year, a new Miss International titleholder will be crowned.
Organizers of the Miss International 2022 announced that it will take place in Japan in December. The pageant was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Candidates for the 60th edition of Miss International have to join activities promoting the United Nations’s Sustainable Development Goals.
“#BeautiesForSDGs is Miss International’s humble way to utilize our national titleholders’ influence in spreading awareness, as well as actively taking part in SDGs initiatives in their own country or region,” the organizers said.
Philippines’s representative, Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 Hannah Arnold, is aiming to succeed the reigning Miss International titleholder, Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand, who was crowned in 2019.
Hannah, in an Instagram post, expressed how grateful she is to represent the country in the upcoming pageant.
“Thank you Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. for this blessing to continue my dream journey. This is such exciting news that my MI sisters and I have been praying for and messaging a lot about. We will surely use this extra time to spread more awareness about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,” she wrote in the caption.
“Tuloy ang laban (The fight continues), see you in Japan in December,” she added.
The Philippines currently has six Miss International titleholders, with Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa being the most recent.
