MANILA – Early registration for learners in public schools for School Year 2022-2023 is set to start on Friday, the Department of Education (DepEd) said Wednesday.
In a statement, the agency said registration for various entry-level learners, particularly those entering kindergarten, primary level (Grade 1), junior high school (Grade 7), and senior high school (Grade 11), will run from March 25 until April 30.
The DepEd also encouraged private schools to conduct early registration on the same dates.
The agency said early registration for various learning modalities may be done face-to-face in areas with low Alert Level status, as stated in DepEd Memorandum 17, Series of 2002.
“In the context of the prevailing Covid- 19 public health emergency, the conduct of early registration shall be done remotely in areas under Alert Levels 3 to 5. In-person registration through parents or guardians may be allowed in areas under Alert Levels 1 to 2 provided physical distancing and health and safety protocols are strictly observed,” it said.
Meanwhile, the DepEd also said learners in Grades 2 to 6, 8 to 10, and 12 no longer need to join the early registration, as they are automatically pre-registered.

Early registration for the face to face classes would be a great opportunity but they should also make sure that the people will follow the guidelines and be aware of what is being restricted. We shouldn’t be very confident that COVID is already gone cause we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Let’s always remember that we can’t see our enemy so better to be ready always. And I hope during the face to face class the teachers will not just teach lessons but also guide the children of the things that they need to do to secure their safety.
