New management certification available to UCW MBA students
University Canada West (UCW) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC-Canada), making the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation available to UCW Master of Business Administration (MBA) students taking the Consulting elective area.
Students can fulfill the educational requirements towards earning a CMC designation upon graduation by successfully completing the three courses in the Consulting elective area. Students can then be streamed through the CMC designation pathway much faster, placing them ahead of those without this opportunity. As students move towards graduation they can connect with CMC-Canada and discover their individual path, knowing they are well on their way to a worldwide accepted designation, the CMC.
“University Canada West is proud to partner with CMC-Canada to provide our students with a clear path to a CMC designation, the only worldwide recognized designation for management consultants,” said Dr. Stephanie Chu, Interim Vice President Academic at UCW.
By taking the CMC-qualifying courses at UCW, students also get a free student membership, giving them access to the CMC-Canada community, speakers, student rates for professional development events, potential career mentors and other member-specific resources, including access to an online university community and the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK).
“We’re proud to welcome UCW as our Academic Partner, it’s a win for all parties,” said Donna Ringrose, CMC-Canada’s Executive Director. “The CMC designation represents a commitment to the highest standards of consulting and to the ethical guidelines of the profession. We are pleased to be working with UCW to offer this path to our designation for their students. We look forward to working with both students and faculty, as they navigate their studies and prepare for their careers.”
The CMC designation is an international certification mark recognized in more than 50 countries across the world.
The CMC designation comes with many benefits, including:
- Global recognition
- Greater knowledge
- Increased demand for your skills and consulting
- Peace of mind and confidence for your clients
- Added professionalism
- New industry connections
- Preferred supplier arrangements, including discounts and other benefits
The CMC designation provides management consultants with credibility and recognition of professional status and competency in the workplace, community and with clients. Attaining a CMC designation enables consultants to reach pinnacles in their careers and secure new business through differentiation in a competitive industry.
UCW follows professional trends closely and develops elective areas that reflect the best professional standards in specific fields. These elective areas allow students to gain specialized skills and knowledge. UCW’s on-campus MBA program currently offers eight elective areas – Consulting, Leadership, Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Financial Management, Human Resources, Marketing and Digital Marketing, and Non-Profit.
