Curry, Warriors snap Suns’ historic 18-game win streak
ANKARA – The Golden State Warriors snapped the Phoenix Suns’ historic 18-game winning streak with a 118-96 win on Friday night.
Stephen Curry starred for the Warriors with 23 points, including six 3-pointers, five rebounds and five assists.
Draymond Green, the Warriors’ vocal leader on the court, had nine points, nine rebounds and nine assists, along with six steals and three blocks.
He became one of just seven NBA players in history to finish a game with these exact stats.
Leading by 12 at the end of the third quarter, the Warriors never looked back as they extended the gap by another 10 points by the final buzzer, improving their season record to 19 wins and three losses.
Deandre Ayton (23 points and six rebounds) and Chris Paul (12 points and eight assists) put up a combined 35 points for the Suns, who now have 19 wins and four losses.
Clippers prevail in Los Angeles derby
Luke Kennard hit two clutch 3-pointers in the final minutes to lift the Clippers to a 119-115 win over the Lakers.
He finished the night with 19 points and four rebounds, while Clippers’ superstar Paul George racked up 19 points, eight rebounds and nine assists.
Marcus Morris Sr. added another 21 points for the winning side, including six 3-pointers.
Anthony Davis and LeBron James combined for 50 points for the Lakers.
The Clippers now have 12 wins and 11 losses this season and the Lakers are at 12-12.
