Issuance of local voter’s certificate continues amid ECQ: Comelec
MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Thursday that the issuance of local voter’s certificates will continue even as the National Capital Region (NCR) will be under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) for two weeks starting Friday.
In an advisory, the poll body said its National Central File Division satellite office in Intramuros, Manila is open during the ECQ.
“On August 6-20, 2021 (ECQ in NCR), the Comelec National Central File Division satellite office in Intramuros, Manila (located at the back of Chowking) will be open for issuance of local voter’s certification,” it said.
The satellite office is at FEMII Building Extension along Cabildo Street corner A. Soriano Avenue inside Intramuros.
The voter’s certification may be used in lieu of the voter’s ID, for passport application, and other transactions where a valid ID is required.
Voter registration activities, meanwhile, will be suspended in Metro Manila as Comelec offices will be closed due to the strictest quarantine status imposed by the government.
The two-week ECQ aims to arrest the further spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 Delta variant.
