Voter applications for OFWs open until Aug. 31
MANILA – Six local field registration centers of the Commission on Elections- Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) in Metro Manila are open to accept applications from Filipino overseas workers beginning Monday until the end of the month while the region is under modified enhanced community quarantine.
Applicants for overseas voting may visit the registration centers located in the cities of Manila, Parañaque, Mandaluyong and Quezon, the Comelec-OFOV announced on its Facebook page.
The offices are at the Comelec OFOV in Intramuros, Manila; Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in SM Manila; Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) in SM Manila; DFA Aseana, Parañaque City; Philippine Overseas Employment Administration in Mandaluyong City; and DFA Robinsons Galleria, Quezon City.
Aside from these offices, applications are also accepted online for those with existing voter registration records.
Under Comelec Resolution No. 10709, overseas Filipinos with existing voting records and registered overseas voters can transact with the OFOV online.
For online registrants, an applicant has to book an appointment by sending a direct message or email for queries, and if ready to book a video call appointment.
The registrant has to submit through email the filled out application form and a copy of the passport or seafarer’s book before the video call schedule.
During the video call, an OFOV personnel will interview the applicant and administer the required oath.
