Regions to get bulk of next Sinovac deliveries
MANILA – The National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 will expand the equitable distribution of some 16 million doses of vaccines arriving this month to all regions.
Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., NTF Chief Implementer, said the next supplies of Sinovac vaccines this month – to be delivered in batches of 3 million, 2 million, and 4 million doses — will be allocated to the provinces.
Also expected are the Chinese government donation of one million doses of Sinopharm vaccines on Aug. 21, followed by 727,850 doses of Pfizer, and 2,273,600 doses of Moderna vaccines, including 898,000 procured by the private sector.
The government will also get 3 million doses of donated vaccines from the COVAX Facility this month.
“Ang balak po natin nito ay ibigay sa mga different provinces para po magkaroon po ng equitable distribution ang lahat ng ating mga probinsiya (Our plan here is to give it to different provinces so that all our provinces can have equitable distribution),” Galvez said during the Covid-19 situation briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night.
