Pasig ditches ECQ pass but only essential transactions allowed

MANILA – Pasig City residents with essentials transactions can leave their homes without quarantine passes during the 15-day enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) which begins Friday.

In his social media post, Mayor Vico Sotto said the city government will not be issuing quarantine passes despite the most restrictive quarantine classification in the National Capital Region.

“Yung huling ECQ guidelines (as of May 2021) ang gagamitin, pero mananatili tayong flexible kasi maaaring amyendahan o dagdagan pa ito ng nasyonal (We will use the last ECQ guidelines, as of May 2021, but we will remain flexible because the national government may amend it),” he posted on Thursday.

Residents can go out to buy essential goods, for emergencies, or to go to and from their workplaces.

Vaccination sites will continue to operate, Sotto said, while public transportation will remain available.

As of August 4, Pasig has 604 active Covid-19 cases out of 37,507 total confirmed cases, with 976 deaths and 35,927 recovered.

The city has breached the 400,000 dose-mark of Covid-19 vaccines administered as of August 3 — 232,171 with the first dose and 171,070 fully vaccinated.
