Julia Montes becomes part of ‘Ang Probinsyano’ cast
Julia Montes has been added to the cast of the Philippine action-drama television series, “Ang Probinsyano,” where she will reunite with Coco Martin.
This was announced by Dreamscape Entertainment in an Instagram post, revealing that Julia will take the role of Coco’s new leading lady in the sixth year of the series. This followed ABS-CBN’s earlier announcement that Jane de Leon will be leaving the show, where she plays Captain Lia Mante, as she will begin filming for “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series” in September.
“IT’S OFFICIAL! #CocoJulisBack,” it said.
Coco and Julia, who have also been rumored to be dating, first starred alongside each other in the 2012 television drama “Walang Hanggan.” They reteamed in the 2013 film “A Moment in Time,” in the 2014 series “Ikaw Lamang,” as well as in the 2015 TV show “Wansapanataym Presents Yamishita’s Treasures.”
Some netizens, meanwhile, expressed their excitement for the comeback of “CocoJul” onscreen tandem.
Aside from Julia, there are also other actors joining the “Ang Probinsyano” cast. They are: Tommy Abuel, Rosanna Roces, Michael Flores, Vangie Labalan, Marela Torre, Chai Fonacier, Elora Españo, and Joseph Marco.
“Abangan kung ano ang kanilang magiging papel sa buhay ni Cardo (Watch out for their roles in Cardo’s life),” Dreamscape Entertainment said, mentioning Coco’s character in the series.
Based on the 1997 film of the same name starring the late actor Fernando Poe Jr., “Ang Probinsyano” will mark its sixth year this September.
Julia’s last TV project was “24/7” in 2020. She was also supposed to star in the action drama “Burado” along with Nadine Lustre, Zanjoe Marudo, Paulo Avelino, and Thai actor Denkhun Ngamnet, but it was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
