MANILA – Lifetime free flights across the AirAsia network await Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz.
The reward is an initiative of AirAsia Philippines, together with Group chief executive officer Tony Fernandes, spokesperson Steve Dailisan told the Philippine News Agency.
“We in AirAsia are excited to fly Hidilyn, and help her realize her advocacies in empowering dreamers, believers and future torch bearers of Philippine sports,” Dailisan said.
He added that the airline is one with the Filipino people in rejoicing Diaz’s Olympic win.
“Her story of rising above the challenges is something that should remind us to keep going even when the odds are not in favor,” Dailisan remarked.
Diaz bagged the first Olympic gold medal for the Philippines, winning the women’s 55-kg. weightlifting competition at the Tokyo International Forum in Japan on Monday night.
