PH Covid-19 recovery tally up by 6.3K to 1,414,817
MANILA – Another 6,296 patients recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Wednesday.
In its Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH said the national Covid-19 recovery rate has improved to 95.2 percent as total recoveries climbed to 1,414,817 out of a total of 1,485,457 infections since the start of the pandemic last year.
Another 3,806 new infections, meanwhile, brought the active case tally to 44,408.
The health department said at least 90 percent of the active cases have mild symptoms, 3.5 percent are asymptomatic or have no symptoms, 2.8 percent have severe symptoms, 1.7 percent are in critical condition, and 1.95 percent are moderate.
The death toll also rose to 25,232 after 140 more people succumbed to the disease.
The DOH noted that five labs were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
Nine duplicate cases were also removed from the total case count, 8 of which were recoveries.
Moreover, 105 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
To date, 57 percent of 3,500 intensive care unit beds, 46 percent of 19,700 isolation beds, 42 percent of 12,100 ward beds, and 37 percent of 2,800 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are in use nationwide.
Meanwhile, 43 percent of 1,100 intensive care unit beds, 38 percent of 4,600 isolation beds, 33 percent of 3,400 ward beds, and 36 percent of 1,000 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are being used in the National Capital Region.
