Lea Salonga is one of the voices in animated series ‘Centaurworld’
The voice of Tony Award-winning singer Lea Salonga will be heard in the upcoming animated series Centaurworld on Netflix.
The Broadway star announced the news on social media as she shared the trailer of the series.
“Yahooooo! Been sitting on this for more than a year! This was a blast to work on!” she said.
“Hoping I get to see all the voice actors in person at some point and get to hug their necks!” she added.
In a Facebook post, Lea shared that she had already recorded her bits and that she “can’t wait to finally see the fruits of our labor.” It is unclear yet which character she will be voicing.
Centaurworld will be about “a hardened war horse transported away from battle finds herself in a land that’s inhabited by silly, singing centaurs of all shapes and sizes,” according to its synopsis in the Netflix Futures YouTube channel.
The voice cast for the series also includes Kimiko Glenn, Megan Nicole Dong, Parvesh Cheena, Megan Hilty, Jessie Mueller, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Josh Radnor.
The voice actors, in their respective Instagram accounts, expressed their excitement for Centaurworld.
The series will premiere on the streaming giant on July 30.
Prior to this animated series, the multiple award-winning Filipino singer provided her singing voice to two Disney princesses, Princess Jasmine from Aladdin and Fa Mulan from Mulan.
