PH recoveries 92.5% of total infections
MANILA – The Philippines’ recovery tally continued to rise with 10,179 survivors of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) added to the 1,013,204, representing 92.5 percent of the overall 1,094,849 infections, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Saturday.
The DOH also reported 6,979 new cases, with total active cases now at 63,376, or 5.8 percent of all cases since the pandemic was declared in March last year.
The percentage of active cases was lower than Friday’s 6.1 percent.
Of the active cases, 94.1 percent have mild symptoms, followed by the asymptomatic at 2.0 percent, those with severe symptoms at 1.6 percent, those in critical condition at 1.2 percent, and those experiencing moderate symptoms at 1.04 percent.
There were also 170 new deaths that increased the casualty toll to 18,269 or 1.67 percent of all infections.
Based on reports gathered on Thursday, a total of 50,122 Covid-19 tests were administered, where 14.3 turned out positive.
In the National Capital Region, the utilization of Covid-19 facilities are 67 percent of 700 intensive care units (ICU), 48 percent of 3,800 isolation beds, 53 percent of 2,200 ward beds, and 49 percent of 800 ventilators.
Nationwide, 63 percent of 1,900 ICU beds are utilized, as well as 44 percent of 13,600 isolation beds, 50 percent of 6,000 ward beds, and 41 percent of 2,000 ventilators.
