Pasig vax drive reaches 30K mark
MANILA – Pasig City has already breached the 30,000-mark in administering first doses of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccines.
Mayor Vico Sotto reported on social media that the city crossed the 30,000-mark on Saturday while 14 percent of its senior citizens have received their initial doses.
However, supply is running out and may be enough for the next two weeks only.
The opening of new vaccination sites will also be suspended.
“Let’s pray that the national and LGU (local government unit) orders arrive soon,” he said on Sunday.
The city government will continue updating the records of senior citizens and persons with disabilities, with profilers visiting villages to validate and assess possible vaccine recipients under priority groups.
Walk-in for the city vaccination drive is prohibited. The city will send text messages of inoculation schedules and venues.
“Limitado ang supply ng vaccine mula sa Department of Health. Dito nakadepende ang schedule at dami ng ating pwedeng mabakunahan. Di pa po dumarating ang bakuna na binili ng Pasig City government (The vaccine supply from the Department of Health is limited. The schedule of vaccination and the number of vaccines will depend on the supply. The vaccine purchased by the Pasig City government has not yet been delivered),” Sotto said.
