650 new Covid-19 recoveries raise tally to 705K
MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 650 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the country’s total recovery count to 705,757.
This accounts for 77.1 percent of all Covid-19 infections in the country since March 2020.
In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the agency also reported 10,726 new infections, raising the active case count to 193,476.
Of the active cases, 96 percent are showing mild symptoms, followed by the asymptomatic at 2.9 percent, those with severe symptoms at 0.5 percent, those in critical condition at 0.4 percent, and those with moderate symptoms at 0.30 percent.
The death toll from the disease is now at 15,738, with 145 new deaths.
Out of the 41,905 individuals who were tested for Covid-19 on Thursday, 19.7 percent returned positive for the disease.
In the National Capital Region (NCR), 84 percent of the 700 beds in intensive care units (ICU) that are devoted to Covid-19 patients are occupied, along with 63 percent of 3,800 isolation beds and 72 percent of 2,200 ward beds, while 64 percent of 800 ventilators are in use.
For the whole country, 68 percent of 1,900 beds in ICUs are occupied, along with 50 percent of 13,500 isolation beds and 57 percent of 6,000 ward beds, while 48 percent of 2,000 ventilators are in use.
The DOH also advised the public to avail of the services of telemedicine providers for their health care concerns.
