Fil-Am woman in Chula Vista went missing since January; search continues
Efforts to find a 39-year-old Filipino-American woman in Chula Vista, California who has been missing since last month continue.
Sister of Maya “May” Millete, who was last seen at her home on January 7, became emotional as she appealed to those who might have information on her sister’s whereabouts to help them look for Millete.
“Anyone out there, please, anybody somewhere, somehow know where my sister’s whereabout is, please bring her home,” Maricris Drouaillet said in a news conference on Friday.
“Her kids, they need their mom. Please help us find my sister,” she added.
Meanwhile, Millete’s brother-in-law Richard Drouaillet, expressed gratitude to individuals who supported them.
“Our main goal has always been to find May and to protect the kids. We couldn’t do this without the community support, the police support,” he said.
“Thank you so much I know we can never repay what you guys have done for us in this tragic time,” he continued.
It was reported that their family had a plan to go on a trip for the 11th birthday of Millete’s daughter. In an earlier interview with Deadline, Maricris said she found it “odd” that her sister was not responding in their group text when they talked about the trip. She added that “something didn’t seem right” because Millete “was always the first to answer” as this was about her daughter’s birthday celebration.
According to Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD), Millete’s cars were found at her residence. The CVPD has served a search warrant at her home last January 23 “to obtain any evidence and clues to her current whereabouts.” A Facebook page, “Find May/Maya Millete,” was also launched as part of the search efforts.
CVPD Chief Roxana Kennedy assured during the Friday news conference that they will leave no stone unturned on this case.
“We really are doing everything we possibly can to come up with answers right now and I want you to know that my entire crimes of violence team has been working around the clock on this case from day one and they are following all leads,” she said.
Millete is described as five feet and two inches tall who weighs 110 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown long hair. Should someone has any details about Millete can reach out to CVPD at (619) 691-5151 or San Diego Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
