DOH logs 234 new Covid-19 recoveries
MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday recorded 234 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 488,465.
This brings the country’s Covid-19 recovery rate to 91.2 percent out of a total of 535,521 Covid-19 cases.
However, the DOH Covid-19 case bulletin also reported 1,941 new cases of Covid-19, jacking up the total number of active cases to 35,946.
Of the active cases, 95.2 percent are considered mild and asymptomatic by the DOH.
Critical Covid-19 cases are at 2.2 percent, 2.1 percent are severe cases while 0.48 percent are moderate.
The DOH also assured that there are enough facilities for Covid-19 patients in the country.
It said the intensive care unit (ICU) beds have 60 percent availability, isolation beds have 66 percent availability, 76 percent of ward beds are available while ventilators have 78 percent availability.
Meanwhile, with the new Covid-19 variant detected in the country, the DOH continues to encourage the public to always follow the imposed minimum public health safety protocols.
These include wearing face masks and face shields properly and strict observance of safe physical distancing most especially in public places, and frequent washing or sanitizing of hands.
