PH Covid-19 recoveries up by 148 to 399,457

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 148 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), with total recoveries now at 399,457 or 91.5 percent of all Covid-19 cases.

In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH also reported 934 new Covid-19 cases, bringing active cases to 28,379 or 6.5 percent of all Covid-19 cases in the country.

Quezon City reported the highest number of new cases with 75, followed by Laguna with 59, Baguio City, Bulacan, and Davao City with 34 each.

Of the active cases, it said those exhibiting mild symptoms make up the majority at 85.4 percent, followed by the asymptomatic at 6.9 percent, those in critical condition at 4.9 percent, those with severe symptoms at 2.5 percent, and those with moderate symptoms with 0.28 percent.

Meanwhile, 63 new deaths were also reported, bringing the total of Covid-19 casualties to 8,509 or 1.95 percent of the country’s total cases.

Currently, 59 percent of the country’s 1,900 beds at intensive care units are available, 61 percent of 13,500 isolation beds unoccupied, 71 percent of 5,900 ward beds available, and 79 percent of 2,000 ventilators are not in use.
