MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday reminded the public that there will be no voter registration on Monday, November 30 (Bonifacio Day), and on December 8 (Feast of the Immaculate Conception).

“Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 845, all offices of the Commission on Elections nationwide will be closed on November 30, 2020 (regular holiday) and December 8, 2020 (special non-working holiday), hence there will be no voter registration,” the poll body said in an advisory.

Likewise, it reminded the public that voter registration is conducted from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., only during weekdays or from Monday to Thursday.

The poll body added that Friday has been designated disinfection day, “unless the local government unit (LGU) prescribes a different disinfection day”.

“Everyone is enjoined to strictly observe and practice the minimum public health standards inside and outside Comelec offices,” it said.

The voter registration period has resumed last September 1 and will run until September 30, 2021 for the May 2022 national and local polls.

Applications for registration may be submitted at the Office of the Election Officers (OEOs) in the area where the applicant intends to vote.
