MANILA – The death toll for Typhoon Ulysses, which cut a massive swathe of destruction across Luzon, has now climbed to 73 persons, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Tuesday.

The latest update the agency released this afternoon shows that the deaths were reported in Regions 2 (Cagayan Valley), 4A (Calabarzon), 5 (Bicol), and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

The number of injured is placed at 24 and missing at 19.

Families affected were placed at 727,738 which is equivalent to 3,052,049 individuals residing in 5,594 barangays in Regions 1 (Ilocos), 2, 3, 4A, 4B (Mimaropa), 5, National Capital Region, and CAR.

Some 70,784 families or 283,656 persons are being served inside 2,205 evacuation centers while 41,203 families or 158,926 individuals are being aided outside.
