Two more staff members of Real Canadian Superstores in B.C. get COVID-19

Two Real Canadian Superstores located in British Columbia reported two new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Wednesday, November 4.

Based on its updated list of COVID-19 cases, Loblaw Companies Limited, the parent company of the store, said a staff member of Real Canadian Superstore at 14560 104th Ave in Surrey, B.C. tested positive for the virus. The last day they worked was on October 30, Friday.

The other COVID-19 case was an employee of the Superstore located at 45779 Luckakuck Way in Chilliwack, B.C. who last came to work on October 27, Tuesday.

These two staff members are the third and fourth cases reported at the Real Canadian Superstore locations this month.

The first case was a staff member at the store located in 8195 Scott Road, Delta, B.C. last on November 1, followed by a staff member at the Superstore’s location at 7550 King George Hwy., Surrey, B.C. on November 3, according to the list.

Loblaw said they regularly update the list of COVID-19 cases in their stores by province for transparency.

On Wednesday, B.C. added 335 new cases, bringing up the total number of cases in the province to 16,135, of which 3,120 are active.

It also reported one new fatality due to COVID-19, leaving the death toll to 273, while a total of 12,659 have recovered.
