Sharing of anti-Red posts means defending PH: NICA chief
MANILA – While vehemently denying allegations that he is a purveyor of false information, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) Director-General Alex Paul I. Monteagudo said he shares posts by anti-communist terrorist groups as he believes it is the duty of every Filipino to defend the nation and its way of life against such threats.
“I am sharing the posts of the officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the National Task Force to End the Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF ELCAC) because I believe that it is the duty of every Filipino to defend our Constitution, our democracy, and our people against groups such as the CPP-NPA-NDF (Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front) that seek to violently overthrow our duly constituted government,” he said in a statement forwarded to the Philippine News Agency Sunday.
He said that as NICA Director-General, it is his sworn duty to protect and defend the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines and the Filipino people from forces that seek to destroy Filipinos’ freedom and democratic way of life.
Monteagudo was responding to accusations made by Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Carlos Isagani Zarate and Kabataan Rep. Sarah Jane Elago, members of the Makabayan bloc, during the September 29 deliberations for the NICA budget, that his posts on his Facebook account are all fake.
“I, therefore, categorically deny the said accusations!” Monteagudo said, adding that he shares posts as he finds it either inspiring, entertaining or informative.
He said he shares posts on behalf of the many indigenous peoples who have been exploited and murdered by communist terrorists.
“Thus, I shared posts in my FB because I see them as artistic expressions of our people similar to the sentiments of former rebels, Indigenous Peoples (IPs) victims, and parents who have finally gained the courage to stand up and reveal the truth about members of the CPP who are now in Congress, the Makabayan bloc led by Congressman Zarate, masquerading as defenders of ‘human rights’, when they are actually part of a terrorist organization that has killed thousands of Filipinos, destroyed many families and robbed the Filipino people of the peaceful and prosperous lives we all dream of,” he added.
More importantly, he said, their posts call for the protection of family and our children from exploitation and abuse of the communist terrorist group by revealing their network in Congress, which is the Makabayan bloc, that has grieved the hearts of many parents who lost their children because they were recruited as NPAs and later left to die in a place away from the comfort of their homes and the love of their family.
Monteagudo claimed that Makabayan bloc representatives are members of the CPP-NPA that had been earlier declared as a terrorist group by the Philippines and five other countries including the US and the European Union.
“All members of the CPP pledge allegiance to the CPP flag and Constitution, the preamble of which, seeks the violent overthrow of the government and the establishment of a communist form of government by undermining our democratic institution,” he added.
With such goals, he said, it is no wonder why the Makabayan bloc is working hard to undermine the NTF ELCAC by blocking the budget of the Presidential Communication Operations Office, the National Security Council, and NICA.
“We will not be intimidated by Congressman Zarate and the rest of the Makabayan bloc representatives from exposing their true color as proxies of the Communist Terrorist Group,” he added.
He said it is their duty to reveal the truth as it is the best weapon against the lies and deceptions by being spread by the communist terrorists and their allies.
“For 51 years, the CPP-NPA-NDF has been deceiving our people and our children. Our best weapon against these lies and deceptions is the truth. But, who will reveal the truth if we are cowed and intimidated by these Congressmen? Sino ang magsasalita? Kung hindi tayo, sino? At kung hindi ngayon, kailan? (Who will talk? If not us, who? And if not now, when?) he asked.
Monteagudo appealed to every Filipino to cooperate with them to protect their families and children from the deception and abuses being perpetrated by the communist terrorists and their allies.
He said now time to stop it decisively.
“Let us not allow them to deceive us and murder our people for another 50 years and this is the reason why I am sharing to our people the truth about the communist terrorist groups!” Monteagudo said.
“But if telling the truth is now a crime, then I will gladly go to jail,” he added.
