Pasig rolls out health info, data management system for Covid-19

MANILA – The Pasig city government has rolled out an online-based health information management system to scale up its pandemic response.

Mayor Vico Sotto said Monday the Pasig health monitoring system is a custom-made data management scheme that seeks to provide the particular needs of the residents.

Using the digitized technologies, Sotto said the system could help the city streamline processes in terms of testing, contact tracing, isolation, and treatment for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Sotto added that it will also provide real-time data and information management on the Covid-19 response.

“Bibilis ang aksyon natin, bibilis ang response natin at mas magiging angkop sa sitwasyon ang mga gagawin ng ating city health department at ng ating dalawang ospital (Our actions will be hastened, our response will be hastened and our city health department and our two hospitals could carry out actions which are more appropriate to the situation),” Sotto said in his weekly city updates.

The city government will also roll out Pasig pass, a contact tracing solution specifically made for the city which runs via quick response (QR) system, Sotto added.

He said the registration for the Pasig pass QR code-based system will start on Oct. 8.

The city government is yet to release an advisory on the Pasig pass’ registration processes and instructions.

Residents who don’t have smartphones with them will also be catered and provided with Pasig pass by setting up various stations within the city where they can register and download their assigned QR codes.

The QR codes will also be put to the new identification cards (IDs) such as senior citizen privilege cards.

The pass will prevent the manual contact tracing method, he said.

Sotto added that the improvement of the city’s contact tracing work station is almost done and is set to be operational.

Meanwhile, Sotto said the city government has discharged some 48 coronavirus patients housed at the Pasig Centralized Quarantine Facility after recovering from the disease.

“We send them home with their health clearances, test results, and food packs,” he said.

‘Undas’ 2020

On the other hand, Sotto said the city will implement a barangay coding scheme on days when residents will visit their departed loved ones in public and private cemeteries.

Sotto said Pasig residents are allowed to go to burial places on Oct. 26 to 28 and Nov. 5 to 7 only, as all public and private cemeteries nationwide would be closed from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4 during the observance of the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

In a bid to limit the crowding of the people in burial grounds, only Pasig bonafide residents are allowed to enter cemeteries during the set schedules.

Visitors will be requested to bring any proof of their residences.

The visitation has no age restriction, but they are required to follow stringent health protocols to avoid the transmission of the Covid-19.

Residents of Barangays Manggahan, Kalawaan, Palatiw, Bambang, Kapasigan, Sagad, Bagong Ilog, Sto. Tomas, Sumilang, and Malinao can visit cemeteries on Oct. 26 and Nov. 5.

Meanwhile, residents of Barangays Pinagbuhatan, Santolan, San Miguel, Pineda, Dela Paz, San Nicolas, Bagong Katipunan, Sta. Rosa, San Jose, and Sta. Cruz are scheduled for Oct. 27 and Nov. 6.

Those residing in Barangays Rosario, Maybunga, Caniogan, Buting, Sta. Lucia, Kapitolyo, Oranbo, Ugong, San Antonio, and San Joaquin can visit on Oct. 28 and Nov. 7.

Sotto said non-Pasig residents will be allowed to visit private and public cemeteries on days that are not scheduled for the Pasig residents, which is before or after the Oct. 6 and Nov. 7 schedule.

Under Resolution No. 72, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) announced that all cemeteries and columbariums in the country would be closed from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4 to prevent the spread of Covid-19 during the observance of the ‘Undas’ season.
