MANILA – Department of Justice (DOJ) Undersecretary Markk Perete on Thursday has resigned from his position.

“After much thought, I have decided to submit my resignation from the DOJ effective today due to serious reasons,” Perete said in a message to newsmen. He, however, declined to elaborate.

Perete was named as Justice undersecretary by President Rodrigo Duterte in July 2018 and was later designated by Secretary Menardo Guevarra as the agency’s spokesperson.

Perete graduated from the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law in 2006.
