MANILA – About 11,000 beneficiaries of Supervised Neighborhood Play (SNP) and daycare centers have received family food packs and nutrition packages (nutripacks) from the Pasig City nutrition team and the Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR).
In a social media post on Friday, the Pasig City government said it continues to take care of the health of about 6,095 daycare children and 4,905 SNP children amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.
Apart from food packs and nutripacks, the city government conducted the mid-upper arm circumference measurement among beneficiaries and provided them with Vitamin A from September 9 to 16.
It assured that front-liners implementing the SNP program are adhering to the minimum health standards and quarantine protocols to avoid the risk of Covid-19 infection.
The SNP program is an alternative strategy for local government units to respond to the early learning needs of children aged two years to four years.
On the other hand, the city government has installed two hand-washing stations at the main entrance and at the food court area of the Pasig City Mega Market, the city’s largest public wet market in the city.
“Ang palengke ay isa sa mga lugar na madalas puntahan ng iba’t ibang tao kung saan hindi maiiwasan ang paghawak sa bagay na hinawakan din ng iba (The market is one of the places where various people often go, where it’s unavoidable to touch something that has been touched by others),” it said.
The city government said the hand-washing stations are foot-operated so that people can avoid touching the faucet and soap dispenser.
Mayor Vico Sotto, meanwhile, reminded the residents to strictly observe the minimum health standards and safety guidelines to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.
“Wear a mask, wear face shields in public indoor areas, and wash your hands often,” Sotto said, encouraging residents to always practice social distancing and proper hygiene.
