Ogie Alcasid, Moira Dela Torre team up for new song ‘Beautiful’

In these trying times where most of us probably sleep with a heavy heart as we hear some not-so-good news the moment we open our eyes, we really need something that will somehow uplift our spirits.
So to give encouragement to all, especially to those feeling disheartened, singer-songwriters Ogie Alcasid and Moira Dela Torre collaborated on a new worship song titled “Beautiful,” with the teaser shared by the two artists on their respective Instagram accounts on Monday, August 10.
In his caption, Ogie revealed that he started writing the song sometime in the past but never got to finish it until lockdowns due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) COVID-19 pandemic happened.
“I felt that this was the time that it had to be done,” he said.
Ogie started contacting people that will work with him on the song, including Moira who was asked to do vocals and conduct a video shoot in the United States where she was touring.
“[I] texted Jem Florendo and asked him to arrange it for me,” he said.
“Jonathan Manalo joined the team and weaved his magic with the mix in the studio,” he added.
The 52-year-old seasoned singer said he dedicates the song to “dear Jesus because everything you’ve done for us is simply Beautiful” and that he hopes and prays that people will be “blessed with what we have produced.”
Moira, meanwhile, thanked Ogie for writing and sharing with her the song which she described as “timely,” “so powerful,” and an “amazing reminder” that despite all that’s happening, “we serve a mighty and beautiful God who makes everything beautiful in His time.”

“Beautiful” will be released on digital platforms this Friday, August 14, while its music video will be dropped on August 17.
With this announcement, many could not be more excited to finally hear the song, including Jae of South Korean rock band Day6, whom Ogie had viral Twitter and Instagram interaction with.
Jae earlier quote-retweeted Star Music PH’s teaser of “Beautiful,” simply reacting to it with flushed face and flame emojis.
