“As we celebrate the birth of Apolinario Mabini today, the DFA seeks inspiration from the life of its first Secretary of Foreign Affairs as a paragon who strives selflessly ‘to do for his countrymen the most possible good’ especially during these challenging times,” the DFA said in a statement.

During the virtual DFA Day celebration, Undersecretary Eduardo Malaya noted that the agency has facilitated the return of some 90,497 Filipinos affected by the pandemic– more than half of the repatriates in 2019 which was at 141,242.
