91% of public school students return for academic year 2020-2021

MANILA – About 91 percent of the public school students from the last school year have enrolled for the incoming school year which begins August 24.

According to data from the Department of Education as of July 22, some 20,583,109 learners have enrolled in public schools.

Meanwhile, about 1,231,273 learners have enrolled in private schools.

The total number of enrollees in public and private schools for school year 2020 to 2021 is 21, 844, 452.

The Calabarzon region logged the highest number of enrollees at 2,956,455 and the Cordillera Administrative Region logged the lowest at 333,840.

The enrollees were from kindergarten to senior high school as well as learners with disabilities and those taking the alternative learning system.
